A selection of 100% Sangiovese, grown in the oldest vineyards surrounding the estate (400 m MSL), is used exclusively in exceptional vintages to create Riserva Pian di Conte. The south-easterly exposed soils are composed of sandy loam with abundant heavy stones. The wine ages for at least 24 months in 500-litre French oak tonneaux and 15/25-Hl Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a period of bottle aging. The wine has a deep red color and a fresh, complex bouquet, rich in aromas of ripe red fruits, plums, cherries, blackberries, and raspberries, complemented by spicy notes that develop with age, such as chocolate, tobacco, and liquorice. On the palate, it features a powerful, well-structured body with excellent balance and smoothness, finishing with sweet, elegant tannins.

100% Sangiovese, trained with Spurred Cordon, with 5,400 vines per hectare in 30 to 40-year-old vineyards.
The vineyards are located around the winery (400 m MSL). The Pian di Conte Brunello Riserva is produced only in the best vintages, with a meticulous selection of the grapes.

Sandy topsoil.
Temperature-controlled maceration and alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks (28-29°C). 50% of the wine is aged for 24 months in French oak tonneaux (500 L), and the remaining 50% in Slavonian oak barrels (15-25 Hl). Before release, the wine undergoes several months of bottle aging.
A deep, intense red color. A complex and fresh bouquet with hints of plum, cherry, blackberry, and raspberry, complemented by notes of chocolate, tobacco, and licorice.
Pairs superbly with red meats, game, meat sauces, and wild boar.

Leuchtendes, intensives Rubin- granat. Sehr intensive und einladende Nase, zeigt dunkle, reife Kirschfrucht, Zwetschge, dazu Gewürznelken und Leder. Am Gaumen viel Schmelz, präsentiert sich mit viel süßer Frucht, feinmaschiges Tan- nin, zugleich auch frische Säure, schönes Spiel, im Finale etwas raues Holz.
Terse and decidedly captivating in the sensory matrix showing notes of red flowers, bergamot, linen, hawthorn, camphor, mandarin juice and green tea leaves. Full bodied, incredibly beautiful tannins perfectly fused and polymerized and an iconic finale which shines in its power, precision and smoothness. A masterpiece to be tasted after 2023.
